What is the UCPath step? ›

UCPath contains two step fields: "Step" and "UC Step." The "Step" field is configured as a whole number and doesn't accept decimals. Some titles have both whole and half steps which requires the use of numbers with a decimal. Therefore the "UC Step" field was added to reflect the correct whole or half step.

UCPath is the University of California's single payroll, benefits, human resources, and academic personnel solution for all UC campuses and medical centers. UCPath replaced UC's 35-year-old payroll personnel system (PPS) and updated HCM, standardizing and streamlining payroll and HR processes system-wide.

Your UCPath employee ID number identifies you in the UC systemwide UCPath human resources, benefits, and payroll system. It is displayed on earnings statements and when you log into UCPath online.

What is an “Off-Cycle” check? An Off-Cycle check is any payment that is not paid on the employee's regular “on-cycle” pay cycle (either monthly or biweekly). This payment can be necessary when employees miss a significant amount of pay (e.g., missed time card, incorrect hours).

Pay stubs, also known as pay statements or wage statements, are like the decoder rings of payroll. They help employees decipher their paychecks and are useful to employers when solving wage and hour disputes or tax discrepancies.

You will be asked to submit official transcripts from all schools and colleges you have attended, including high school, regardless of your length of attendance or whether you believe the credit is transferable. Some campuses may request transcripts prior to admission.

UCPath calculates employment service credit monthly. If you work 50% or more, you accumulate 100% employment service credit. Biweekly Paid Employees - UCPath calculates leave hours and service time on a quadri-weekly cycle, or every four weeks. UCPath prorates leave hours based on percentage worked.

New students who are not residents of California will not be eligible for our need-based grants or most scholarships. We encourage you and your family to develop a plan to meet your educational expenses until the time you graduate from UC Berkeley.
