1. Developer Update - 26 August 2022 - VRChat Ask Forum
Aug 26, 2022 · AMD FSR, DLSS, and other systems have been requested by our users many times to potentially increase the performance of VRChat while ...
Hello, and welcome to the Developer Update for the 26th of August, 2022! You might notice that the “feature updates” section is a little thin. p3 was a doozy to get bugfixed, and we’ve diverted a good bit of team resources over to getting the UI ready. As such, there haven’t been many things worth posting about just yet since the Tuesday Dev Update! Schedule Update We’re going to continue the twice-weekly updates for the next week, but starting on the week of 4 September, we will be reverti...

This guy updated his plugin for vr also, any chance this could be implemented in vrchat?
3. Developer Update - 29 June 2023 - Page 2 - VRChat Ask Forum
Jun 29, 2023 · Any info on DLSS yet? As the post points out, DLSS is impossible due to the lack of motion vectors in basically all shaders in VRChat.
We always get cool stuff out of this. The big glut of features after we launched EAC was, in fact, almost entirely jam projects that had just gotten finished getting polished up and ready for release 😅 I’m not ENTIRELY sure on the technical bits but I believe GPU instancing only really matters if you have two materials that are very similar or even identical in a scene. That makes it much less useful for an instance full of different avatars. As the post points out, DLSS is impo...

5. DLSS 3 available in VR yet and graphics card advice?
May 26, 2023 · DLSS3 Frame Generation does not and probably will never work in VR. The ordinary DLSS (upscaling) works in VR both in 30xx and 40xx series GPUs.
Hi, I’ve been using MFS with an Xbox Series X, but am keen to try it in VR with a gaming PC. I’m trying to work out what graphics card I can get/afford and am thinking of an Nvidia RTX 4070, 4070 ti or at an absolute push a 4080. I’m see DLSS 3.0 seems to make a huge difference to frame rates with flat screen games, and am thinking it would help considerably in VR. I’ve seen some videos of people using DLSS in VR which seems to make a good differnece to frame rates, but none of DLSS 3. My questi...

Jun 30, 2023 · FSR and DLSS are not a perfect thing, they can only reduce pixel shader overhead but not geometric shader overhead. Not to mention that the ...
Is there a proper tag for that? might be interesting to look at some worlds like that.

My question: how can you like DLSS? Is this the next generation of NVIDIA graphics cards? Making hardware that can't keep up with the resource demands of games and therefore downgrading software? I play 2k native. I tried DLSS and I had the impression that everything was droopy, blurred, screens ...

Incremental performance improvements are always a good thing, but at the end of the day there is nothing VRChat can do to make a room full of avatars with 20 materials and 500k triangles run fast. All your suggestions will have a superficial change at most. You are overstating the seriousness of the performance impact these systems have. Mock it all you want, it remains true. The only way I can see performance seriously improved is if either VRChat hard-enforce performance constraints, or a V...
